Speaking of Satan, in John 8:44
He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own for he is a liar and the father of it.’
Revelation 22: 15 speaks of those whom God rejects. He speaks specifically of those who make a lie.
For without are dogs, and sorcerers and whoremongers, and murderers and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. |
An ‘apparition’ is a lie that has been made for the purpose of deception. God hates deception. Paul gives a warning in 1 Timothy 4:1,2.
‘Now the Spirit [singular, the Holy Spirit] speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.’ |
This refers to anything that does not match the Word of God and has a supernatural quality – apparitions, miraculous gold fillings, stigmata, rappings, appearances of the dead, messages coming from clairvoyants or through tongues speakers, physical and spiritual experiences of anointings by the spirit. These are the seductions of the devil working against God.
In Ephesians 6 we are warned specifically to put on the armour of God to be able to stand against all the wiles of the devil and having done all to stand. |

on the armour is to have in our lives - right-doing, the truth, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Word of God. We need the whole armour as protection, for the spirits that we face are evil - seducing spirits, wicked sprits, unclean spirits, ministers of Satan teaching the doctrines of devils. The devil is our adversary – he is against us however attractive the appearances of his deceptions may be.
While working towards our ruin, the devils themselves believe and tremble at the Word of God. They know the Word of God and are working counter to it. Do you know what God has said on these subjects? What God has said is Truth. Your only protection is in the promises, the prophecies and the commands and warnings of God. In these latter days, as the Bible calls them, it is for the safety of us all to find out everything we can from the word of God and put it into our memory so that we are not deceived when we are confronted by demonic activity, however plausible. The deceptions will come in form that is suited to attract you and deceive you.

Almost all the deceptions of the devil are connected with what happens after we die. |
He uses the teaching of the immortality of the soul, combined with the teaching that we can be independent of God, as his major traps in every world faith. The Bible says the dead sleep and have no, part in the events of this world.
If you study with prayer for yourself to determine the true Bible teaching on what happens after we die, and you are being obedient to all of God’s commandments, being quietly and always dependent on Him, the devil cannot deceive you. You will have divine protection from his destructive programme for the world. |
