freedom in their personal spiritual experience, to break the shackles and authorities of the past and leave behind the old conventions of religion and society.
These are the exact sentiments of the spiritualist movement and their hopes for the world. Reverend Spinks calls himself a Christian, but he is also a New Age follower. He speaks glowingly of the trends that will lead to a new spiritual experience. He believes it is time for us to find something beyond what we have already known from the Bible. From his statements, it is clear that he is also a spiritualist.
The ‘New Music’ agenda to break down the barriers between
different Christian groups is taught at workshops designed for those of all faiths. Going back to their groups and fellowships, participants carry the spiritualistic infiltration with them. The cadences and composition of the music cause the brain to switch off the conscious mind, and move into alpha waves which is the pre-hypnotic state. Music can alter the mind and make one more open to new thoughts and ideas beyond the conscious mind. At such a time, it is easy for the mind to accept that a message came from the ‘other side’, regardless of what the Bible says. Most groups already believe that you go to heaven when you die; some believe in hell fire, but the unifying factor is the belief in a soul that lives on after death. Satan already has a head start with his plans for a Federation of a new Christendom. We need to stay in full control of our faculties to avoid the snares of demonic influences, which could put us in direct opposition to God, the Creator of all.

THE PLAN - Devising a universal creed directly brought from the spirits. Today we hear many statements emphasising that ‘God is love,’ ‘All will be saved,’ ‘Sunday is the day of worship,’ and ‘God speaks directly through your personal experience rather than through the Bible,’ ‘There is no sin,’ ‘The law has been done away with.’ This is almost a universal creed today, but these however, are not the teachings of God but man.

THE PLAN - Encouraging the abandonment of history and old documents, in favour of neo-Gnosticism or personal and direct knowing. They teach that we are to take our counsel straight from spirit influences and personal experience, e.g. ‘There is within each a spark of divinity’ that will lead us. ‘Angel guides’ will be with us for they dwell in each of us. It is taught that the Bible is not a reliable guide for today. Personal knowing and experience is more valuable.

Many of today’s Christians recount experiences of when ‘God told me…’ They were given direct instruction as to which car to buy, when to bring in the washing, and which teaching was the truth. All of this happens in their lives by internal thought messages from ‘God’. Some are given messages from another worshipper which they accept without question. This personal experience is prized. The Bible is viewed as a sacred book of the last millennium which does not reflect today’s society. It has been superseded by direct revelation or by new compilations of sacred books. The wars in the world, it is said, are caused by memories and history, often combined with religion. In an effort to bring peace, history is being rewritten or not taught at all, in an attempt to take away the past and manipulate our understanding. This has been stated as a spirit objective. God, by contrast, gives true perspectives, with prophetic guidance for the future.

THE PLAN - Bringing new revelations to the Christian world. Sir Oliver Lodge spoke of the ‘spirits’ bringing ‘a new revelation from the other side that would call for a reconstruction of traditional

Christianity.’ New books are being written to ‘reframe’ Christianity, revitalise it, bring it into the next century, make it more relevant to today’s society. All these are current buzz-words for what was planned many years ago. Today it is happening.
In the Foreword by Elmer Towns to the book The New Apostolic Reformation, 1998, he describes ‘the changing face of Protestant Christianity around the world’ and ascribes it to God’s marvellous working! C. Pewter Wagner, the author of the book, goes on to say ‘I believe we are witnessing a reinventing of world Christianity.’ p.19. (italics supplied.)
