verses tell us that the prince goes to the grave and the others do too. They are all laid in the dust and are consumed by the worms. The wicked ones do not go to hell-fire. |
|
For ye say where is the house of the prince? And where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
They are of those that rebel against the light, they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.
The murderer rising with the light, killeth the poor and needy and in the night is as a thief.
The eye of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight saying no eye shall see me, and disguiseth his face.
|
In the dark they dig through the houses they had marked in the daytime, they know not the light….
Drought and heat consume the snow waters, so doth the grave, them which have sinned. The womb shall forget him and the worm shall feed sweetly on him …
They are exalted for a while but are gone and are brought low. They are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn. Job 24:13-24.
They lie down alike in the dust and the worms shall cover them. Job 21:6
|
Immediately the wicked die, they go to the grave, they begin to decompose and become part of the soil again, just like everyone else. They are not anywhere else. The place where they have been buried or their ashes scattered is where they remain for the present time. |

The way of the ungodly shall perish. Psalm 1:6
The wicked shall perish. Psalm 37:20
For lo, they that are far from thee shall perish. Psalm 73:27
For yet a little while and the wicked shall not be. Psalm 37:10
The lamp of the wicked shall be put out. Proverbs 13:9
He that speaketh lies shall perish. Proverbs 19:9
He that being reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. |
|
Proverbs 29:1
There is nothing in the Bible to teach that the wicked go to an ever-burning hell at the time of death. The Bible does, however, teach of a final destruction by fire. Fire is Biblical, not mythological. That fire however does not come at death but at the end of the world. Error always rides side by side with Bible truth and causes confusion.
What is the fate of the wicked?
Even Peter asked this question – |
What shall be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?
1 Peter 4:17.
|
Here is the Bible answer:
|
|
For behold the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven … yea, all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. Malachi 4:1
|
This verse tells us that the wicked will be destroyed by fire, but it will burn them up. It will not be an ever-burning hell. They will be destroyed root and branch. That is total destruction. |
