nearby village as there they had ‘too much of the spirit’ and at times it was dangerous. The holy angels and God’s Spirit are never dangerous.
New Age channelers are involved with the same evil spirits but in yet another guise. A woman became heavily involved with such things and read widely in mystic writings, actively communicating with these forces. She was led to seek dark, deep wells of water where she felt that she would be able to lose her soul in the divine being. By light of day, she knew that she was involved in something dangerous, but as evening came,
the pull of the quest came again. She was powerless to resist these powers, even though she was terrified and recognised that one day she could be led to suicide. She did not know how to break free, or even if she wanted to.
Eve was deceived at the beginning by something beautiful but it turned out to be so evil that it wrecked the whole world. Satan is still a deceiver and he has a deception for everyone. Why does he wish to deceive? One day God will destroy him and, because he knows this, he has only a short time left. He is going about ‘as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.’ 1 Peter 5:8. His angels too, are working with him to deceive and destroy, appearing as servants of light.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers
of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15.

Ghosts are real; so are other forms of the devil’s occult power. What is our protection? The prayer on a Cornish postcard? No!
Our safety from evil is to put our lives right from all that we know we are doing wrong, and turn into a new course, not leaving any toehold for Satan to enter our lives. If you are already under his influence, do not seek an exorcist; turn to Jesus. Come just as you are, tell Him your desire to turn from the bondage of evil, and confess all that is on your conscience. Repent of those things and determine truly to forsake them. This will take every ounce of effort and continued persistence, but for every evil angel there still two angels in heaven. Use the God-given power of your will to choose to put your life on God’s side, and the angels of heaven will bring light into your life. You will receive power and peace of mind; this is the freedom God promises.
There are just two principles - to trust and obey God in everything. Then the devil can only annoy you; he cannot overcome you.
Keep in touch with God, praying constantly about your life and temptations to sin. If you fall, put things right instantly. Above all, do not touch another ouija board, go on a ghost walk, get involved in Hallowe’en activities or meddle with anything occult, even for curiosity, or because friends dare you. Stand clear, stay safe, and never allow yourself to lose your reasoning power or give your mind to another’s control. The end result is always destructive.

Evil is real and powerful, but God is greater.

Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand. Ephesians 6:11-13.
