And shouldest destroy them that destroy the earth. Revelation 11:18.
No second chance.
The Bible is clear that our choice, for Him or against Him, is made in this world, here and now. There is no mention of a second chance in the Bible, or a time when all people will be changed and restored to the Lord. This view of universal salvation is also mythology that has crept into the Christian world. It gives a more comfortable picture than judgement and death, but a second chance is false hope. Its origin is in the thinking of Greek philosophy. |
When Jesus came, He made a complete sacrifice for us and is now our High Priest in heaven, working with us to remove the sins from our lives in this present world today.
If God could do more in the future, why cannot He do it for us now and stop the misery of the world today?
In Summary |
- There is no ever-burning hell with an eternity of torture.
- There is no such place as purgatory.
- There is no universal restoration of all sinners.
|
An ever-burning hell and torment are entirely mythological, coming from the devil’s lie that we all have an immortal soul. This means that cash payments and lighting candles are unnecessary to assist loved ones. They are asleep in the grave or where their ashes are scattered.
The wicked will face fire, but not immediately upon dying. It will be after their sleep in death. At the time of their resurrection, all the wicked will receive their wages from God. They will be destroyed, all at the same time, on this earth, and be reduced to ashes by the prophesied fire and brimstone and tempest. Wickedness will never be seen again. The plan of the Gospel will be complete and sin and sinners will be no more. |

Is it worth continuing in the things you know are wrong in your life?
God is a God of justice, but His mercy still pleads with us all today to come to Him to receive the promised gift of life and not death as our wages at the end of all things. Ezekiel 18:32 says, |
Repent and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Cast away from you your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit, for why will ye die …
For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves and live ye.
|
Isaiah 28:21 reads,
For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, He shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that He may do His work, His strange work; and bring to pass His act, His strange act. Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong:
|
 |
for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
Here the destruction from God is described as His ‘strange act.’ It is not something that He takes pleasure in but the Bible tells us that evil will reap what it has sown in the destruction of others. This destruction prepared a clean earth for the world to be made new once again, for the eternal reward of those who love God. They will live forever while one rich tide of gladness will sweep the world forever, and the joys will deepen and grow. Is not this a hopeful picture. All the former world will be gone and not come into mind again. |
