Revelation 16 pictures three factions working to unite the world assisted by spirits. These are depicted in prophecy as three unclean frogs, the spirits of devils. Read Revelation 12-16 in one sitting and you will disc over the final issues. God is not deceitful with us or secretive about His ways. It has been recorded for all to read. God is open and wholesome in all His dealings with the world, and His knowledge is solemn but clean and bright and uplifting. God never uses force, but instead pleads with us to listen to Him. He says, Come! And I will give you rest. |
What happened to the Fox sisters?
They became weak and vacillating in their thinking. At times they repudiated spiritualism as a hoax and then had periods of recanting, denying the repudiations. Both Margaretta and Katie had troubled lives. Margaretta married and for a time left spiritualism to become a Roman Catholic, but she was ‘pressed by the spirits’ and again went back to being a medium. It was noted that the control of her mind and desires was damaged and she appeared weary and friendless. Her husband warned, and pleaded with her to break free and rise above the life she was living. Again she denounced spiritualism, this time publicly and with her sister.
A large audience who had come to see the Fox sisters later in their lives hissed fiercely and made a reportedly dramatic commotion. |
| To the sisters, Spiritualism had become a curse from which there was no escape. Katie died of alcoholism in 1892 and Margaretta died also of alcoholism in 1893. Witnesses of the time described her - nearly 60, living in one room in a large house in New York, a mental and physical wreck, relying on charity, and her only interest, drink. Her face still had a beauty about it, but she was almost totally demented. The sisters were destroyed by the devil, but yet spiritualism lives on. It is not simply trickery. Saul committed suicide after visiting the witch of Endor. Spiritualism is totally destructive, and negative in its end results. |

Don’t dabble!
The warning comes to you today. Do not dabble or try to seek to speak to one who has died, through a medium. Do not get involved with hypnosis of any kind, or spiritualistic party games or speaking in tongues. There is no easy way out. Dealing with the spirits damages the whole mind and personality. Stand free and pure with all your faculties under your own control. If you have been speaking in tongues, then get away from it and forsake it, asking the Lord to strengthen your efforts to break free. If you have been involved with Deliverance Ministries, turn from them, Take your difficulties to the Lord. Nowadays many of these things happen in Fellowship Groups and it is a bondage hard to break. We have numerous examples of people who have written to us in fear because they can find no peace and no release. |
It all began with happy times of praise, and good companionship with the added dimension of spiritual blessing in tongues, healings, and exhilaration. One told us that the day following the experience, her mood became lower than anything she had ever experienced before, almost to the point of despair, but the next time the group met, the same wonderful highs occurred again.
