Understanding and coping with bereavement
personality has imperceptibly changed. They find it harder to keep to decisions about right and wrong, their faces often reflect spitefulness when in repose; the ready smile has gone. Their language becomes sharp and condemnatory but, because they talk a Christian jargon of love, people see them as good Christians, not recognising the nastier evidences shown on the face.
The very real troubles come to such people when they begin to study the Bible seriously. Once a course of study is started, correspondents have told us of night terrors and horrific dreams. They feel heavily ‘oppressed’

(Do you remember the experience of Margaretta Fox when she tried to break free?) and persecuted. They cannot find the words to describe their experience. This is common in the British Isles. We have first-hand experience of people having breakdowns and still being unable to break free. People have told me of whole churches where this terror is rife but none of them can leave it, due to leadership pressure. This experience has also been reported to me from charismatic groups in the West Indies where such mental attacks also take place. One local lady in the UK told me that she would not allow her child to go to the charismatic church in the next village as it was reported to be dangerous; they had ‘too much of the spirit’. Does this sound like the spirit of God or the spirit of the evil one?
Others had already been studying the Bible and had begun to come under conviction through the Words of God. It was then that they had started to listen to tapes, learn new music, and attend spirit-filled worship services with friends. Within a matter of days the experience of tongues or the content of ‘messages’ given to them personally, had taken the place of interest in the Word of God.
Deliverance ministries claim to remove the demons of various besetments – appetite, bad temper and others. The deliverer claims to bring out the ‘general’ and then follows with the ‘troops.’ It can be a long and exhausting session. What is happening? Devils are talking to devils using human beings as their agents. Sometimes it happens that someone who did not have a demon before now has one. When they want to break free, they find they are thrown across the room and objects are hurled in the house. Prior to the deliverance session, perhaps all they had was something like an indulged appetite. Now they have problems with evil spirits.

Are you in any of these situations? The Lord has a power greater than that of the devil but it takes courage to break free. Today we are living in a battle for the mind.

God is calling to you with invitations;
The devil is coercing you with attractive inducements.

Here is the Divine remedy:

  1. Immediately tell God what you need. He has been waiting for this opportunity.
  2. Choose now to begin a healthy lifestyle. Begin with what you know already—
